Aside from a Barbie watch I got in an Ekka showbag when I was a child, I've never really been one to wear a watch. Recently I decided to give one a whirl and began to look online and as fate has it, I opened my inbox to find an email from a company in the US who manufacture wood watches asking me to test out one of their products and write about it on Vacant Lake.
JORD is based in St Louis, Missouri and have a range of watches (female, male or unisex) available to order and ship internationally. I chose the Ely Maple design for its clean, fresh and petite appearance as I need something simple and gentle for my tiny wrists. This design features scratch-resistant glass and is splash-proof.
When I ordered the watch I was offered to have it sized for me prior to shipping out, but unfortunately - as someone unfamiliar with the imperial system - I must have incorrectly measured my wrist and it was a little too tight when I tried it on after receiving it. Thankfully, the team are one step ahead and had included two additional links (one short and one long) and I was able to have the smaller one added and it's now the perfect fit!
I've found myself wearing it almost everyday, which is a big step for someone who rarely wears accessories, especially watches. So, if you're looking for a great quality wood watch at an affordable price I definitely recommend checking out what JORD has on offer. The customer services is also A+.
I think the great thing about the colouring in the maple design is it allows for everyday daily use and even as an accessory for evening wear. Here I styled it with a loose camisole top and flowing midi skirt with a pop of colour on my lips for a classic, evening look. Can I just note how seriously happy I am to be able to wear such a dainty, simple top again - summer is definitely on its way!
