Review: Dior & I

On Thursday evening I was lucky enough to attend a preview screening of critically acclaimed film, Dior & I (Thanks to Think Tank Communications & Madman Entertainment), with my sister and 5 of my readers. I'm going to be blunt; it was fantastic.

I'd been a little concerned that to enjoy it you may have needed an acquired taste for not only foreign documentaries but also the process of fashion design, but I think there was a little bit of everything for everyone.

If you're unfamiliar with the synopsis of the documentary, it focuses on the newly appointed Creative Director of Christian Dior, Raf Simons and his journey in creating his first haute couture collection in only 8 weeks.

It brought out a mix of emotions. Some laughter, some (happy) tears.

To say the least, becoming the Creative Director of Dior is a pretty big deal so Raf, himself, shed a fair few tears of accomplishment throughout the film. He seems like a great fit for the position, although a little scary at times, but who wouldn't be with that much stress!

The journey is always interesting, but the final outcome is always best and rooms lined from ceiling to floor with fresh flower is one the greatest things I've ever seen (too bad I wasn't really there!).

If you're into fashion (and not even neccessarily high end fashion) go see this film!

Dior & I releases in Australia on March 26 at selected cinemas (find where it's showing
here).
