Part 2 of the 1 Piece of Leather: 2 DIY's series is here! For my second item I decided to create a headpiece to wear to my work's Melbourne Cup event.
I've always preferred minimal headpieces and am not a fan of fascinators so decided to make a gold leather piece that was almost a little bit Grecian.
I used a very cheap plain gold headband from the Reject Shop (it's quite flexible so there was no problem with the painful pressure headbands usually bring from wearing all day), superglue, a gold permanent market and of course the faux leather - cut into teardrop shapes.
Because the leather was originally cream coloured I coloured it with the gold marker to ensure it would have the gold metallic finish I was looking for. It only took a couple of hours in total over a few nights (and some stuck together fingers 😖) to finish it all off and I was really happy with the final outcome.
A few people commented on it and one girl even asked where I'd purchased it from so it's great to know that others liked it too!
